The bands and the people are just people at the end of the day, with thier own frailties, not anything too great. Pete Murphy is apparantly one of the most unpleasent people around.
I'd far rather know some of my real heroes personally, the people who have actually changed my life, people like the women that got us the vote, the writers that changed the world...
Though come to think of it my real heroes are the ones closer to home...my father, the councillor that brought me back to sanity, Glen...not some bloke in a band that I like!
I've met people, but they're just people, some are incredible people - like Dax for example who is so much more than her music - but most of the 'celebrities' I've come across are just rather up themselves! (Not Paul of course if he reads this ;)
Wayne Hussey thought my friend's comment was funny, and so did I, but Wayne was just a bit annoyed I'd forgotten to bring some flapjack.
Aye, I'll agree that they're just people, but I have that same feeling towards excellent craftworkers, or teachers, even some of my dead relatives.
Glen sounds like an all-around good guy, but I can see how some folks aren't so nice. I think it's not even fame that makes it. It's just in their minds. Yeah...I've heard Gaiman is nice, though.
Wayne wanted a pancake?
